I was there with a bunch of friends, literally in the first row.
(This was on Mar 22, 1968. Five days later —Mar 25, 1968— we saw Jimi Hendrix in Muncie Indiana[!!]
I realize that there are places when things like this may be relatively normal, but for a bunch of kids from east central Indiana…)
I remember the night perfectly. It snowed and the snow was absolutely stunning as I remember it sparkling like diamonds! Best concert ever. Ginger Baker did a drum solo that lasted 15-20 minutes while the rest of the band walked off the stage. Wonderful memory!
I was at that concert I was only 16 but was so impressed by Ginger Baker’s drumming ability.
I Have never in my life since experienced a drummer of his caliber .
