This was back in the day of “Festival Seating”. Once the doors opened there was a mad rush to get in but we quickly found out they only had a few doors opened in order to check for contraband. As we headed to the door(moving with the mob) the police started spraying mace to slow the crowd down. To this day, that is still the only time I have been maced! It took me a long time to regain my vision but since we were there when the doors opened to get good seats, I had time to recover. It was a great concert. I remember Ray Cooper was not able to join the band that night so Elton had a cardboard cut out of him that he brought out on stage.
