Indianapolis,

Billy Cobham on drums, Alphonso Johnson on bass, Jimmy Herring, guitar, and T Lavitz on keyboards

Performing instrumental versions of music of the Grateful Dead.

It was a very cool night. Jazz musicians Billy Cobham and Alphonso Johnson, need no introduction for their jazz pedigrees, but had played with Bob Weir as part of Bobby & The Midnites in the early 1980’s.

Jimmy Herring played with Col Bruce Hampton, the Allman Brothers Band, Phil Lesh, several versions of post Grateful Dead tours and now is lead guitarist with Widespread Panic. (Terry) T Lavitz played keys with Dixie Dregs and a host of others.
