I was a senior in high school, came up from Vincennes with a buddy. The main thing I recall was noticing after “festival standing” for a while that my feet were freezing. Turned out that beneath the particle board we were standing on was ice for the Indianapolis Racers. Despite that, had a great time…loved Jefferson Airplane, truly a band with its own sound.

Security was lax back then, I was able to sit on the back of the stage when Grace Slick took a break, as the band played on with Papa John Creech. Grace came to the back of the and sat with me and girl I was with and we talked with her while break. One of the coolest concerts in my lifetime.
