Umphrey’s McGee • July 17, 2010
The Lawn at White River State Park, Indianapolis

Support: Rusted Root

This was the fourth summer this South Bend jam band – formed by Notre Dame students in 1997 – performed at this venue (out of 13 shows through 2021) and was its 37th performance in Indy (out of 47 shows through 2021 including nine at The Patio, 11 at The Vogue and 10 more at The Murat Centre). Thunderstorms were all around and lightening ended up shooting through the sky behind the stage for much of the show after dark. The band took a very short set-break due to weather and came back on stage with the intention of playing as long as they could. Each of the first songs of the second set were played with an intensity as if they might be the end of the show. They weren’t and the rain mostly held off. The stage in the park was still a temporary summer situation.

Here are a couple of unused images of mine from the concert to show the setting and some band members. I think the photo pass was also a ticket, so no stub. – Jeffrey Smith
