About us

Indiana Rock History Ltd is an Indiana 501(C)(3) nonprofit corporation formed to preserve the history, the stories, and the legacy of Indiana’s music scene. To integrate the international story of rock’s rise with the Indiana story – the concerts, Indiana’s superstars and legends, local bands and artists, radio stations and personalities, the venues, the people behind the scenes, the fans, the other participants, and their contributions to Indiana’s rock journey.

What personal data we collect and for how long

Indiana Rock History gathers two types of information through its website.  The first is routine statistical information gathered as visitors browse through the site, and the second is personal information voluntarily supplied by visitors. 

We are collecting your data for several reasons:

  • To better understand your needs and provide you with the services you have requested;
  • To fulfill our legitimate interest in improving our services and products;
  • To send you promotional emails containing information we think you may like when we have your consent to do so;
  • To contact you to fill out surveys or participate in other types of market research, when we have your consent to do so;

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.  We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for seven years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.  We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.  An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

When you share, post, or upload content that is covered by intellectual property rights (like photos or videos) on or to the Indiana Rock History platform (“Platform”), your work will only be used on the Platform, and you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable (only with ownership of the platform), royalty-free, and worldwide license to host, use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly perform or display, translate, and create derivative works of your content on and for the Platform only. No other uses of the content may be made without your prior written approval.

The Platform includes the Indiana Rock History website, Facebook page, Indiana Concert Posters Instagram page, and any future Indiana Rock History social media outlets such as Twitter.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Disclosure of Information

Indiana Rock History Ltd may not use or disclose the information provided by you except under the following circumstances:

Children under the age of 13

The Indiana Rock History Ltd website is not directed to and does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen (13).  If it is determined that such information has been inadvertently collected or anyone under the age of thirteen (13), we shall immediately take the necessary steps to ensure that such information is deleted from our system’s database, or in the alternative, that verifiable parental consent is obtained for the use and storage of such information.  Anyone under the age of thirteen (13) must seek and obtain parent or guardian permission to use this website.

Who we share your data with

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Payments

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
